Resetting your Library PIN

If you forget your PIN to access your account or the Library’s databases, you can now reset it yourself anytime day or night. When logging into your account click on the link that says “Forgot your PIN?” Enter your name and CSU ID number. You will receive an e-mail to the e-mail account we have in your Library record. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to reset your PIN. For more information, call the User Services Desk at (216) 687-2479.

Sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists and the University Library to support the freedom of speech.

How to Participate
Submit your chosen literary passage in advance of the event to schedule your time on the microphone. Or, just come to our tent at the S&R Center Plaza on Tuesday, October 28 during the common hour to hear the readings. Afterwards, visit the Library to peruse the display of censored books.

Interested in doing a reading, but not sure that you have ever read a banned book? For recent examples visit http://library.csuohio.edu/research/portals/freedom.html or come to the Library’s Banned Books display. Choose a short passage to read (or consider briefly discussing why a certain book or author was censored) then send your idea to Audrey McCrone, the SPJ Cleveland State Student Chapter President, at a.mccrone@csuohio.edu.

Come rain or shine. Exercise your right of free speech!

Ever want to be a writer?

Is it true that everyone has a good book in them...just waiting to be written? If you are a writer or know someone who is a writer, you and they won't want to miss Thursday night at the Louis Stokes Wing Auditorium at 6:00 p.m.

You will hear a panel discussion, brought to CPL by Literary Ventures Fund. LVF grants both funds and expertise to support small presses, book by book. You will hear author Stephen Shem, LVF founder and director Jim Bildner, LVF director of publicity Mary Bisbee-Beek, and owner of our local Mack's Backs Bookstore discuss "Could Fitzgerald or Hemingway Get Published Today ?"

20th Annual Scholars and Artists Reception

20th Annual Scholars and Artists Reception

Sponsored by the Friends of the CSU Library

The campus community is invited to attend the 20th Annual Scholars and Artists Reception honoring faculty, staff, and emeriti creativity. The event, sponsored by the Friends of the CSU Library, will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Special Collections room on the 3rd floor of the Library.

This year’s keynote speaker/scholar is from the Nance College of Business Administration —Dr. Rajshekhar “Raj” G. Javalgi, Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Research as well as Professor of Marketing and International Business. His talk is titled “Entrepreneurship Education in a Changing Global Marketplace.”

During the reception, guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres and browse the display of recently published books, scholarly papers, art, music, web sites, and other works by Cleveland State University faculty, staff, and emeriti.

Submission still being accepted
Faculty, staff, and emeriti are encouraged to submit materials they have published in the past year (including books, scholarly papers, art, music, websites, and DVDs). Complete the appropriate information on the submission form and send as instructed with your published works by Thursday, October 23, 2008 (5:00 p.m.).
